Drawing and painting has been a source of great pleasure and satisfaction to me all my life. I studied art and education at Trent Park College, Cockfosters and later at Sutton Art College. I taught in local schools while continuing to paint, draw and experiment in different media. I now live in Surrey where I hold my own classes in watercolour, ink and mixed media.

I enjoy sketching and painting outdoors in a wide range of subjects including people, flowers, landscapes, townscapes and cityscapes (especially looking down from a high viewpoint) but all my work has a strong emphasis on drawing. I use my sketches and my own photographs for my studio work, often while listening to the radio. I am initially inspired by interesting shapes and tones but colour has recently played an increasingly important part in my landscape work.

I have been exhibiting my work locally for more than 20 years, then in London with the RI and SWA at the Mall Galleries, the RWS and SGFA at Bankside Gallery, the SBA at Westminster Gallery and also at the Barbican and Menier Gallery with the SGFA. aa well as exhibiting regularly at LLewellyn Alexander Gallery.

I am a fully elected member of two professional art societies:
SWA The Society of Women Artists www.society-women-artists.org.uk
SGFA The Society of Graphic Fine Art www.sgfa.org.uk (Where I was a Council Member for 10 years)
.

I have written and illustrated two books, 'DRAWING MASTERCLASS - FLOWERS', published in May 2012 by Search Press
and 'DRAWING MASTERCLASS - LANDSCAPES' published by Search Press in May 2014. Both books have now been translated into Spanish and French. These books are available on Amazon and sold in many countries including America, Australia, France and Spain.

DEMONSTRATIONS, WORKSHOPS, CLASSES, TALKS AND CRITIQUES
I hold regular classes in Cheam, Surrey and demonstrate to art groups & societies as well as giving talks to social groups.
I have demonstrated for Search Press at PATCHINGS Art Festival and held workshops at DERWENT Pencil Museum in Keswick.

I have tutored and led painting holidays in France, Algarve, Yorkshire Moors and Coast, Scotland and East Sussex. This year I will be tutoring, "DYNAMIC CITYSCAPES AND LANDSCAPES" at Higham Hall College, Lake District National Park, 1 -5 July 2018
